Agency Computer Assisted Technology Transfer (CATT) Program is a National Reinvention
Laboratory initiative. It is a collaborative effort between government, industry and
academia to increase economic development and reduce government costs by using technology.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division is a CATT Deployment Site that has teamed up with Indiana State University and the Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC) to create a Virtual Acquisition System model. The goal is to optimize the procurement of spare and replacement electronic parts in a seamless virtual engineering, acquisition and manufacturing network using a new interactive data format, the Electronic Product Digital Definition Set (EPDDS).
